How fast you heal
Healing speed depends on what you are doing. Resting heals at 2 times the base
speed, the slightest effort drops it to 1.3 and full effort to 0.7, so a
wound stabilises about 2.9 times faster lying still than working. PT-29 Rapid Recovery Serum multiplies healing by 5 with one dose, 7 with two and 8 with three, and the immune system by 10.
Disinfectant and burn gel
- Isopropyl alcohol (Bleeding injury, Burn injury, Abrasions; 2 to 8 s; 1, 1, 2, 2 uses at S1 to S4). Isopropyl alcohol is a colorless, flammable chemical compound with a strong odor. It has a wide variety of industrial and household uses and is a common ingredient in chemicals such as antiseptics, disinfectants and detergents. It can be used to directly sterilize an open wound or to sterilize a clean rag.
- Burn Gel (Burn injury; 2 to 8 s; 1, 1, 2, 2 uses at S1 to S4). Factory-made Burn Gel. It speeds up stabilization and recovery of Burn injuries.
- Improvised Burn Gel (Burn injury; 2 to 8 s; 1, 1, 2, 2 uses at S1 to S4). 100% natural gel made from Agave. It speeds up stabilization and recovery of Burn injuries.
Pills
- Antibiotics - the game names it for Infection, Sepsis. Antibiotics, also called antibacterials, are a type of antimicrobial drug used in the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections. They are not effective against viruses such as the common cold, but they are effective against infections such as sepsis because they boost your immune system.
- Painkillers - the game names it for Foot Abrasions, Hand Abrasions. An analgesic or painkiller is any member of the group of drugs used to achieve analgesia, relief from pain. Analgesic drugs act in various ways on the peripheral and central nervous systems. They are distinct from anesthetics, which temporarily affect, and in some instances completely eliminate, sensation.
- Activated Charcoal - the game names it for Alpha Amanitin Poisoning, Caffeine Overdose, Ibotenic Acid Poisoning, Muscimol Poisoning, Psilocybin Poisoning. Activated charcoal is used to help treat a drug overdose or poisoning. When you take activated charcoal, drugs and toxins can bind to it. This helps rid the body of unwanted substances. The charcoal will only be helpful while in the body, and depending on the amount of toxins, it may not be helpful enough. Consuming large amounts may cause diarrhea.
- Potassium Iodide Pills - puts potassium iodide in your blood. Potassium iodide is a medication used in radioactive emergencies. It will block up to 2 sieverts of radiation in the body. After its effects stop, the blocked sieverts return. Also, radiation can still get absorbed and harm you, even during the effects of the medication.
- Vitamin Pills - puts vitamins in your blood. Two capsules taken daily with meals as a dietary supplement or as directed by a health care professional. Do not exceed recommended dose. This product is not intended for pregnant or nursing mothers.
- Aspirin - puts aspirin in your blood. Aspirin, also known as acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), is a medication used to treat pain, fever, and inflammation. Specific inflammatory conditions in which it is used include Kawasaki disease, pericarditis, and rheumatic fever. Aspirin given shortly after a heart attack decreases the risk of death.
Injections and the serum
- Adrenaline Shot (Stimulants, injections). An epinephrine autoinjector or adrenaline shot is a medical device for injecting a measured dose or doses of epinephrine (adrenaline) by means of autoinjector technology. It is most often used for the treatment of anaphylaxis.
- Atropine Injection (Stimulants, injections). Atropine is a medication used to treat certain types of nerve agent and pesticide poisonings, some types of slow heart rate, and to decrease saliva production during surgery. It is typically given intravenously or by injection into a muscle.
- Penicillin (Antibiotics, injections). Penicillin antibiotics were among the first medications to be effective against many bacterial infections caused by staphylococci and streptococci. Penicillins are still widely used today, though many types of bacteria have developed resistance following extensive use.
- Antiparasitic Pills (Antiparasitics). Antiparasitics are a class of medications which are indicated for the treatment of parasitic diseases, such as those caused by helminths, amoeba, ectoparasites, parasitic fungi, and protozoa, among others. Antiparasitics target the parasitic agents of the infections by destroying them or inhibiting their growth.
- PT-29 Rapid Recovery Serum. Experimental secret military grade injectable commonly known as "Phoenix Tears". It provides rapid and near instantaneous stabilization and recovery of ANY and ALL injuries and toxins at once.
- Syringe. The syringe is a medical device used to withdraw fluids like blood or inject medication. Pheonix Tears can be acquired by using the syringe on a pool of Brenner's blood.
Common questions
How do you stop bleeding in SCUM?
Put a dressing on the wound from the health tab. 5 things go on a bleeding injury: Tourniquet (shortens stabilising by 3), Hemostatic Dressing (shortens stabilising by 2), Pressure Dressing (shortens stabilising by 1), Emergency Bandage and Rag Strips. Tourniquet takes 5 seconds to apply at S1, rising to 15 at S4; the emergency bandage and rag strips are 5 seconds per piece. Then rest: strain during stabilising throws the wound back to untreated.
How many bandages does a wound take in SCUM?
It depends on the wound's severity and your Medical skill. With no Medical skill it takes 2, 3, 3, 4 at S1 to S4; at Above advanced it takes 1, 1, 1, 2. Rag strips take more: 2, 3, 4, 5 with no skill.
What does a tourniquet do in SCUM?
It goes on a bleeding injury on a limb only (arm left, arm right, leg left and leg right), never on the head, chest and abdomen.
