Every major SCUM update

Into the Wild – October Update (5 October 2026, version 1.3.4.0): The October Update is live, bringing Into the Wild to a close. Larger fish now put up more of a fight, Fishing Quests are available across three tiers, and a new leaderboard tracks the biggest catches. Crows and seagulls are back on the Island, Mutant Animal materials can now be used to craft mutant clothing, and the Apex Hunt arena is open for Deathmatches. New items: Angler Waders, Bone Whistle Charm, Combat Helmet, Crow Corpse, Crow Meat, Key Card, Radioactive Carp, Fishing Floater Pack, Fishing Floater Pack, Fishing Floater, Medium-Sized Fishing Hook, Double Fish Hook, Treble Fishing Hook, Small Fish Hook, Small Fish Hook Pack, Medium Hook Pack, Double Fish Hook Pack, Treble Fish Hook Pack, Nylon Line, Thin, 0.12 mm and Nylon Line, Medium, 0.18 mm.
Into the Wild: August Update (25 August 2026, version 1.3.3.0): Enter an underground TEC1 Research Facility, face mutant bears through new Master Hunter quests and claim exclusive rewards. Cooking has been expanded with new Heatless recipes, faster cooking times and a Food Effects overhaul that gives your diet a greater role in survival. Repeated respawning now also comes with Cloning Sickness, a temporary condition that becomes more severe if you die again before recovering. New items: Research Facility Keycard, Cheese Mixed Salad, Mixed Salad, Cucumber Salad, Fish Salad, Fruit Salad, Lettuce Salad, Sauerkraut Salad, Tomato Salad, Waldorf Salad, Improvised Salad, Tuna Sandwich, Bean Sandwich, Cheese Sandwich, Spon Sandwich and Improvised Sandwich.
Into the Wild: July Update (20 July 2026, version 1.3.2.0): This month introduces a completely new tutorial experience inside the TEC1 Conditioning Facility, mutant deer, boar and wolves, and the Master Hunter, who arrives with new tiers of tougher quests and exclusive rewards. New items: Hunter's Recurve Bow, Hunting Quiver, Ridgeline Bait Feeder, Deer Skull Charm, Master Hunter Trousers, Hunter Blackhawk Crossbow, Hunter Monocular, Seasoned Hunter Skinning Knife, Deer Skull Chandelier, Boar Skull Charm, Master Hunter Boots, Blackline Compound Bow and Wolf Skull Charm.
Into the Wild: June Update (30 June 2026, version 1.3.1.0): June’s Into the Wild update returns wildlife to the Island, along with a limited-time SCUM 1.0 Anniversary quest, trophy fish wall mounts, improvised cooking recipes, customizable tombstones, new custom server settings, fixes, and more improvements based on player feedback. New items: Carbon Hunter Ironpaw, Improvised Pasta Dish, Improvised Rice Dish, Improvised Soup and Improvised Stew.
Into the Wild: May Update (25 May 2026, version 1.3.0.0): Last week, we shared more on where SCUM is heading and introduced Into the Wild, our first focused run of updates. New items: Bait Feeder.
April Patch (23 April 2026, version 1.2.3.0): We've just released our second monthly patch! Let's not beat around the bush and let's dive right into it. We hope you'll enjoy what we've prepared for you! New items: Trench Gun, SKS and Improvised Minigun Turret.
Lunar New Year Update (19 February 2026, version 1.2.1.0): The Zhan Ma Dao sword is a two-handed beast that will make a statement and cleave your enemies clean. Made for cutting cavalry, you can imagine what it can do to your enemies. Not only that, but also looking stylish on your back with its special scabbard when carried on the island, you are sure to be the envy of others carrying it. New items: Zhan Ma Dao.
The Long Haul Update (22 December 2025, version 1.2.0.0): First one is the adjustments for the Holiday content this year: we have adjusted the crafting recipes so it is easier for you all to get the Christmas trees ready in your bases, and extended the timer for 1 day, so you will receive presents on the 25th. New items: Sidecar Bike, Tommy Gun and Flint and Steel.
Update 1.1.0 (2 October 2025, version 1.1.0.0): So let's start with the big one, the one mentioned the most. The dreaded Encounter manager. The bane in your eye. Well, there was a massive pass of improvements on how it works, and even some of the features on it were exposed for you guys to play with. New items: Improvised Oven, Gas Lamp and Military Tomahawk.
Update 1.0.2 (28 August 2025, version 1.0.2.0): To start off, we have a new feature for y'all. You can now paint your clothes with any color possible. Whether for fashion or to make sure you and your squadmates can tell who is who in the chaos. Just grab a paint can, choose your item, and spray away! New items: Takedown Bow and Mountain Bike.
Update 1.0.1 (3 July 2025, version 1.0.1.0): We would also like to say Happy Birthday to our loud yet in its own way charming community across the Atlantic, you are free to celebrate it with a new pattern to paint your... well whatever!
SCUM 1.0 (17 June 2025, version 1.0): With 1.0 we are also releasing something extra. The Deluxe edition is now also available for all those who wish to add a little bit more to their SCUM Survival experience!
Fame Seekers (28 November 2024, version 0.9.600): Let's start with the big one, quests are finally in! There are more of them and more ways to get them so listen up! New items: SCAR-L and MAC-10.
The Horde (14 December 2023, version 0.9.500): To start off we have done a lot of optimizations on both the server and client. You will see an increase in server performance and it allowed us to implement the new features and prepare the groundwork for future additions. This does mean that there were cutbacks on some things though such as puppets and vehicles no longer trigger mines as it ticked the server way too much. Unfortunately one of the features that took a hit are bunkers. Since there were so many of them active all the time we made some changes to them so listen up: New items: Improvised Flamethrower, SCAR-DMR, PU Scope and .45 ACP Suppressor.
Smokin' Hot (3 August 2023, version 0.9.000): The big one. New abandoned bunkers are now on the island. And there is a lot to talk about. From new mechanics, layouts, and yes, finally some new enemy AI. So, let's get to it! New items: M249.
Hell's Kitchen (11 May 2023, version 0.8.500): Loot rework is finally here and it is heft. In the backend, our level designers went and reworked each and every spawner for the rework so you will see loot that makes much more sense. Looting will now be a much more pleasant experience and more important. One of the bigger changes you will notice is that loot no longer resets on server restart. That's right, you can no longer just camp inside the bunker waiting for a restart, get out there you lazy bum. We also have preparations for private servers to have more control over loot on their servers with what will be able to spawn and such, unfortunately it's not quite ready yet but will be through a smaller update in the coming days. New items: Improvised Fireplace, Portable Gas Stove, Gas Tank, Improvised Grill, BCU Lock and Tear Gas Grenade.
Going Nuclear (29 November 2022, version 0.8.00): Let's start with the main title feature, the Nuclear powerplant POI and radioactivity system. This whole new area and system will provide a complete new challenge to the game. Let's start with the POI itself. New items: Potassium Iodide Pills - Blister, Starter Bank Card, Classic Bank Card, Gold Bank Card and Depleted Uranium.
Wings of Fury (14 March 2022, version 0.7.0): Say delays to 0.7 no more because Wings of Fury is finally here! We worked hard on this one and are very excited to show you guys what is in store for you on the SCUM island. New items: Kinglet Duster and Pilot Hat.
Hellriders Update (29 July 2021, version 0.6.0): Finally it is here! Metabolism has been worked on and improved by a large margin. This was an incredible undertaking and it is still not over! It is a lot to take in so read very carefully to make sure you have your character as much optimized as possible out there.
Dead Water Update (31 March 2021, version 0.5.0): Major update regarding the island, in more ways than one. Here is what awaits you: New items: Prussian Carp and Crucian Carp.
Lock'n'Load Update (23 July 2020, version 0.4.84): Guns, guns, guns! You love 'em, we got 'em! As you can guess this update mainly focuses on that sweet ranged combat and weapon overhaul. A lot of new changes and mechanics made it. New items: RPK, N9 Bayonet, M1 Bayonet, M70 Bayonet, Bulletproof Vest and Improvised Raincoat.
SCUM and the City Update (20 December 2019, version 0.3.66): Welcome to Samobor! SCUMs biggest city so far filled with all sorts of wonders that will bite your face off. New items: Brush Palisade, Trunk Palisade, Wooden Palisade, Reinforced Palisade, Pipe Bomb, Pressure Cooker Bomb, Improvised Claymore, Barbed Spike Trap, Cartridge Trap, Improvised Mine, Stake Pit Trap, Weapon Cleaning Kit and Grinding Stone.
Birthday Update (29 August 2019, version 0.2.53): We got you some nice new additions to base build so you can expand in a creative way! New items: Slavic Gent, Slav Reviver, SCUM Sunrise, The Island Special, Guy Fawkes Mask and Bow Silencer.
Maneater (21 June 2019, version 0.2.39): The time for the Maneater update has finally come and we are very excited to show you what we've been working on!
Wild Hunter (2 November 2018, version 0.1.19): SCUM's Wild Hunter update introduces an intense series of new features catering to the prisoners' most primal urges. The update is highlighted with the introduction of basic bow and arrow skills for both hunting wild game and combat against puppets and other prisoners. Prisoners can put these new skills to use by tracking and striking new boars and goats roaming the island, then crafting their trophies into intimidating headwear or decorative spiked heads. Slow things down around the campfire with new musical instruments to play including a banjo, guitar, and harmonica. Additionally, character customization include a fully nude character model and the ability to apply attribute points to a prisoner's genitals. New items: Tooth Necklace and Ear Necklace.
