Game events
SCUM runs its own game events: fights played in rounds, with a scoreboard, a countdown
and a kit handed to everyone who joins. Everything below is read from the game files.
The four SCUM game events
- Capture The Flag (two teams) - Capture the Flag is a game event where teams win points by capturing the flag. On the battleground each team has a flag. The goal is to capture the enemy flag and bring it to your base location. If the rival team takes your flag, then your flag has to be returned to the base first to be able to score points. The team with the highest number of points wins the game.
- Cargo Assault (two teams) - The Cargo assault is the game mode where two teams fight over control of the cargo with the loot. The cargo container has a time-lock mechanism that operates for some time after it has been activated. A team that has activated the countdown sequence has to defend the location while the other team has to reset the counter to take control of the cargo. The team that controls the cargo after it has been opened wins the game.
- Deathmatch (every prisoner alone) - Deathmatch is a game event where the convict needs to score as many kills as possible. The Deathmatch ends if the max kills counter is reached or if the match time ends.
- Team Deathmatch (two teams) - Team Deathmatch is a game event where the team of convicts needs to score as many kills as possible. The Team Deathmatch ends if the max kills counter is reached or if the match time ends.
In Capture the Flag the announcer calls out when a flag is stolen, a flag is dropped, a flag is returned to its base and a team scores.

A server can switch events off with scum.AllowEvents, which is on by default.
