Raiding and base damage
How much C4 a SCUM wall takes depends on two things at once: the upgrade tier and
how long the piece is. A 5m concrete wall has 1,200 health and a 25cm wooden one
has 37.5, so a guide that answers "3 C4" has picked one of thirty five walls and
not said which.
Charges to destroy
Charges are ceil(health / (blast damage - explosion resistance)).
Resistance is subtracted from every charge rather than scaling with them, so an
explosive that does less damage than the element resists will not break it at any
quantity. A concrete wall resists 375: a frag grenade at 500 gets through, a pipe
bomb at 300 never will.

SCUM traps and what triggers them
16 traps, and every one of them can be defused with a cutting
tool. A claymore faces a direction: it trips on anyone crossing the arc in front of
it and throws its blast in a cone rather than a circle, so the ground behind it is
the safe ground.
| Trap | Blast | Reach | Cone |
Delay | What sets it off |
|---|
| C4 Bomb | 800 | 30 m | - | - | A timer you set |
| Claymore | 800 | 30 m | 30-80° | - | anyone in the 200° in front |

SCUM locks and lockpicking
Picking a lock is a ring you turn until it catches. Every lock states the angle you
have to turn past and how wide the place it catches is, and that second number is the
difficulty: an Iron Lock gives you 0.75 of a degree to stop in and an Enforced Lock
0.2. A dial lock is guessed rather than picked - two wheels is a hundred combinations,
three is a thousand.
| Lock | Difficulty | Sweet spot | Time | Other way in |
| Dial Lock | DialLock | 3 wheels | - | 200 crowbar damage |
| Enforced Lock | Advanced | 0.2 deg | 2.75 s | - |
| Iron Lock | Basic | 0.75 deg | 2.75 s | - |
| Silver Lock | Medium | 0.5 deg | 2.75 s | - |
| World Owned Dial Lock (2 wheels) | DialLock | 2 wheels | - | - |
| World Owned Dial Lock (3 wheels) | DialLock | 3 wheels | - | - |
| World Owned Lock | VeryEasy | 5 deg | 10 s | - |
| World Owned Rusty Lock | Basic | 0.75 deg | 2.75 s | 80 crowbar damage |
| World-Owned Enforced Lock | Advanced | 0.2 deg | 2.75 s | - |
| World-Owned Medium Lock | Medium | 0.5 deg | 2.75 s | - |
A lock protection goes on the door next to the lock and shocks you every time you
fail: Advanced Lock Protection 5.7, Basic Lock Protection 2.2, Lock Protection 10, Medium Lock Protection 3.8. Three lockpicks exist and the number is how long each lasts: Advanced Lockpick 1.3, Improvised Lockpick 0.9, Lockpick 1.1.
A door that reads Wired is not locked, it is rigged. You get 5 attempts
at the wires and 10 seconds, and failing sets off a frag charge that kills
at 10 m and hurts out to 15 m.
Common questions
How much C4 does it take to destroy a concrete wall in SCUM?
A 5m concrete wall has 1,200 health, and C4 planted on it takes 400 off it, so it takes 3 C4. Plant them all and they go off together.
How much health does a SCUM base wall have?
It depends on the upgrade tier and on how long the piece is. For a 5m wall: wooden wall 100, barbed wire wall 200, metal wall 400, brick wall 800, concrete wall 1,200. The same wall at 1/4m has a fraction of that, so there is no single health figure for "a wall" in SCUM.
What is the strongest explosive in SCUM?
C4 Bomb and Claymore at 800 blast damage each. Next is 675: AT4 HEAT, PG-7M and TNT. Against a wall only a planted charge counts, and there C4 is strongest: 400 a charge.
How many grenades does it take to break a wall in SCUM?
Taped to the wall with duct tape, a frag grenade takes 100 off it. For a 5m wall that is 1 for a wooden wall, 2 for a barbed wire wall, 4 for a metal wall, 8 for a brick wall, 12 for a concrete wall.
