The Cal .30-06 cartridge was introduced in 1906 and later standardized; it remained in use until the early 1980s. The cartridge was designed when shots of 1,000 yards (914.4 m) were expected. This is an Armor Piercing variant. Used in: M1 Rifle, Carbon Hunter, and Improvised Rifle.
